My Summer as a Salvation Soldier - also known as Thórir - has now released his 3rd solo record on 12 Tónar in Iceland, and it has been much awaited. Between 2006-07 Thórir recorded about 50 songs and from them he picked the 12 lucky ones that made it on his new album 'Activism'. When you thought he couldn't go more bare and lo-fi he did exactly that. And to contrast these solo performances he is accompanied by a full band on other tracks adding a blend of countryfied folk to the singer-songwriting.
The album will be released in the rest of Europe in early March. On his myspace page www.myspace.com/mysummerasasalvationsoldier you can get more than a taste of these new haunting tracks, and live My Summer as a Salvation Soldier will celebrate the release on: February 14th @ Organ, Reykjavik. 8:30 PM. w. Reykjavik! + Tentacles of Doom
